Mr Vij Vijasekaran
A Sessional Consultant Plastic Surgeon for Royal Perth Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital, Vij was the first surgeon in Australia to complete the Advanced Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship – awarded by the Australasian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. Following the completion of his plastic and reconstructive surgery training in Perth, Western Australia Vij undertook further subspecialty training in cosmetic surgery, hand surgery and paediatric reconstructive surgery at several internationally renowned institutions in Melbourne, Australia and Toronto,Canada .
A Member of the Order of Australia (AM), Vij was recognized for providing medical expertise and assistance to the victims of the Bali bombings at Sanglah Hospital in Denpasar, Bali, 2002. He was also jointly awarded the Australian Newspaper’s “Australian of the Year” nominated by the Australian public and selected by the editorial committee for the Australian Newspapers.
