PAYMENT OPTIONS
The Western Australian Plastic Surgery Centre accepts cash, cheques, eftpos and most credit cards.
We ask that all private consultations are to be paid for on the day of service.
Your surgeon will provide you with an estimation of fees prior to any surgery. This estimation of fees will detail your surgeons expected costs and information on other costs for which you will be responsible. These costs may include hospital fees, theatre fee, anaesthetist fees and pathology costs. As these providers fees may vary from time to time it is recommended that you contact them directly for a customised quote. Additionally we recommend that you confirm with your private health fund whether any out of pocket expenses will be incurred.
Non-cosmetic surgery - accounts for non-cosmetic surgery are generally issued after the procedure as item numbers charged may vary as a result of the procedure.
Cosmetic surgery - as Medicare and health fund rebates do not apply to cosmetic surgery these fees are prepaid.
Initial post operative consultations are generally included in your surgical costs however consultations outside of the 6 week post op period generally attract a charge.
FEES
Surgical fees can vary depending on the type, length and complexity of your procedure. In addition to your surgeons fees there may be costs incurred from the hospital, theatre, anaesthetist and pathology company.
Your surgeon can provide you with advice regarding whether your procedure will be covered by Medicare or your health fund. Additionally, your surgeons secretary would be happy to answer any questions regarding fees for your surgery.
REBATES
If you have a referral from your GP or specialist your consultation fee may partially be rebated from Medicare provided it is not for cosmetic purposes. Referrals from a GP are valid for 12 months, specialist referrals for 3 months.
Generally surgical procedures for which an item number apply (non-cosmetic procedures) will attract a rebate through your private health insurance fund in addition to Medicare. There may be out of pocket expenses incurred however you will be advised of this when you are provided with your estimation of costs.
