MBBS FRACS (Plast)

Brigid completed her medical training at the University of Western Australia (UWA) in 1997, graduating with degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.

After a further 10 years of post graduate training through Royal Perth Hospital, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, and Princess Margaret Hospital – including 5 years of comprehensive specialist training, Brigid became a Specialist Plastic Surgeon in 2008 when she was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

She undertook post-fellowship training in Ireland and England, which included a 12 month Plastic Surgery Fellowship in Oxford in the United Kingdom that focused on breast reconstruction and microvascular surgery.

Brigid then returned to Australia to complete a six month Advanced Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship at the Melbourne Institute of Plastic Surgery.

In 2010, she returned to Perth to work in private practice.

Brigid is also Head of Department of Plastic Surgery, and a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at Royal Perth Hospital.

  • Involved in clinical research and has publications in plastic surgery journals.
  • Involved with Rafiki Surgical Missions, a charity organisation that provides free surgery to Tanzanian children and adults with conditions such as cleft lip, cleft palate and burns injuries.

  • Breast surgery: areola reduction, breast augmentation, breast lift (mastopexy), breast reduction, breast reconstruction, breast revision (implant removal +/- replacement).
  • Body surgery: abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), belt lipectomy, brachioplasty (arm lift/reduction), gynaecomastia (male breast), labiaplasty, liposculpting, liposuction, thigh lift/reduction.
  • Facial surgery: blepharoplasty (eyelid rejuvenation), otoplasty (prominent ear correction).
  • Skin surgery: scar revision.

Reconstructive Surgery

  • Breast surgery: breast reconstruction.
  • Hand and wrist surgery: carpal tunnel, digit re-plantation, Dupuytren’s disease, elective and emergency/trauma hand surgery, nail bed deformities, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, wrist arthroscopy.
  • Skin surgery: melanoma, skin cancer, skin lesions.
  • Other surgery: peripheral nerve, reconstructive microsurgery, sentinel lymph node biopsy.
